Ok, I guess I'd just misheard these lyrics before, but I got the real words last week on Valentine's Day.
"Love lifts us up where we belong,
Where the eagles cry
On a mountain high."
Seriously, what's the deal with the eagles crying?? I thought they were flying or something. What the heck?

i dont know, but it's a good song that i now have stuck in my head - thanks...
yeah...thanks for putting a damper on that one. try to be a bit more creative and not so technical next time =)
I thought the SAME THING!!!
It is 'cry'??
i knew it was cry... but i''m old... maybe eagles don't cry when they are low to the ground, so a they get higher, they cry, or, squawk... i would also think if an eagle is higher up, the cry would carry farther, and be more resounding. Also being up high, they probably aren't hunting for food... they are just flying around "for fun" and living it up with no worries or cares. And now since eagles are off the endangered species list, they can fly down lower for fun - so maybe they'll just re-write the whole song now.
lol leanne, you crack me up.
You see, the eagles really are crying, because when they're way up there on the cliffs (which everyone knows is where they live. Thanks to The Rescuers Down Under for that one!) because they can see the entire world from up there. They're either crying because it's so beautiful or crying because it's so messed up(it depends on if they're an optimist or pessimist)
Now I'm not sure what love has to do with all that, but perhaps it's a warning: being in love means shedding many tears.
Are you sure it's not fly?
I'm in shock. And I have no idea what cry is there for, since I always thought it was fly. And I'm still skeptical.
Hehe...you people are hysterical.
And yes, I am SO sure that it's cry. I wouldn't have put this here if I wasn't.
Ok, why is donovan so huufy?????
huffy, that is...
Because he lost Tiff's game.
Bitterness, anyone?
