After a torturous week, Jill's migraine finally broke this morning. Her experience at the hospital was pretty unpleasant since she had to deal with being out in the open in the emergency room for a whole day, and with insensitive nurses and doctors, but things are finally improving.
She's very weak from being on morphine and lying in bed for almost a week, not to mention the exhaustion that comes from being in so much pain. The pain isn't completely gone, but it's at least manageable. They'll probably discharge her from the hospital tomorrow, and she'll go stay with her aunt in Queens for the weekend.
So the good news:
- The migraine broke and the pain is significantly decreased
- She's coherent, smiling, joking
- They're letting her out of the hospital
Things to keep praying about:
- We still don't know what caused it or what needs to be done about the pain that's still there, or what to do if it comes back with this intensity
- Along with this, she's on the cancellation list for a headache specialist with Cornell. This woman is known nation-wide and is one of the best in the country. It could be days or months before there's an opening, so pray that she'll get in there soon.
- Rest
- School...this is the one that is stressing her out the most
- That the pain will stay manageable enough for her to finish out the semester
- Strength for me to do what needs to be done for her once she's living back in the apartment
A huge thanks to everyone praying. I know that the number of requests is greater than the number of praises, but I can't express how incredible a blessing it is that this migraine broke.
